June 12 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 2.3% year-on-year in May, the same as in April, the national statistical office said on Monday.
Consumer prices rose by 0.1% on the month in May, the same monthly rate of increase recorded in April, the statistical office said in a statement.
The biggest monthly rise in prices in May, of 3.1%, was recorded in the hotels and restaurants segment. Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose by 0.3%, while alcohol beverages and tobacco prices grew by 0.2%.
On the other hand, transport prices declined by 1.5% month-on-month in May, while housing, water, electricity and gas costs fell 0.1%.
In 2016, Montenegro's CPI fell by 0.2% after rising by 1.5% in 2015.
