December 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's annual economic growth accelerated to 3.9% in the third quarter from 3.7% in the prior quarter, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday, citing preliminary data.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) slowed down to seasonally adjusted 0.9% in the period July-September, from 1.0% in the second quarter of 2017, the NSI said in a statement.
Calculated in current prices, the country's GDP totalled 26.99 billion levs ($16.3 billion/13.8 billion euro) in July-September.
The acceleration in the annual GDP growth rate was driven by gross fixed capital formation and final consumption, which both rose by 4.3%, year-on-year.
