May 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 3.7% in April, from 3.6% in the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices rose by 0.5% in April, after adding 0.1% in March, NSI data indicated.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight in the consumer basket, increased 5.8% year-on-year in April, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose 4.4%.
Prices in the transport segment advanced 3.8% year-on-year in April.
Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) added 3.1% on the year in April and was 0.6% higher compared to March.
