BUCHAREST (Romania), February 16 (SeeNews) - Romanian gas pipeline operator Transgaz [BSE:TGN] led the gainers among the blue-chips on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Thursday, bourse data showed.
The total equity turnover of the BVB surged to 95.9 million lei ($22.5 million/21.2 million euro) from 37.3 million lei on Wednesday.
Transgaz was the top blue-chip gainer, rising 6.12% to 347 lei in the day's third largest turnover of 7.1 million lei. The company said on Thursday its 2016 net profit rose 22% on the year to 595.7 million lei.
Blue-chip power supplier and distributor Electrica [BSE:EL] stood to 13.76 lei and posted the day's largest turnover of 44.9 million lei.
Blue-chip bank Banca Transilvania [BSE: TLV] stood to 2.55 lei in the day's second largest turnover of 10.38 million lei.
The bank booked a net profit of 1.23 billion lei in 2016, as compared to a record-high 2.41 billion lei in 2015 following its merger with Volksbank.
