November 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy said that its 1000 MW Unit 6 has automatically shut down after the protection system of its power transformers was activated on Tuesday morning.
After safety inspections confirmed that the systems of Unit 6 operate in normal mode, it was reconnected to the grid at 9:03 local time, around two hours after the shutdown, NPP Kozloduy said in a statement.
The shutdown was preceded by an automatic reconnection to the grid of the Petrohan power transmission line located some 65 kilometres away from the power plant, the .
Bulgaria's Nuclear Regulatory Agency and the Electricity System Operator have both been informed about the shutdown.
NPP Kozloduy also said its other operating unit is running at full power. The power plant two functioning units of 1,000 MW each.
