July 17 (SeeNews) - Swedish engineering group Atlas Copco AB on Wednesday it has received an order worth some $23 million (17.5 million euro) to supply equipment for two geothermal power plants in Turkey from local firm Celikler Jeotermal Elektrik Uretim.
Under the agreement, Atlas Copco will supply four geothermal power trains with a total gross capacity of 80 megawatts (MW), which will deliver a total of some 500 gigawatts hour of baseline power per year, enough to supply some 61,000 households, it said in a statement.
Two of the power trains will be used in the expansion of a geothermal power project near the town of Pamukoren in southwestern Turkey's Aydin province. The other two trains will be installed at a new site near the town of Sultanhisar in the same province, the Swedish company said.
