January 23 (SeeNews) - Four of the five indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) retreated on Tuesday, with the blue-chip SOFIX erasing 0.46% to 778.21 points, bourse data showed.
A 7.36% drop in diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] to 0.78 levs drove down the benchmark index, followed by a 3.02% fall in the Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSE] to 14.45 levs.
The two companies also constrained the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. Both indices were additionally held back by a 2.99% tumble at fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH] to 26.00 levs.
Overall, the BGBX40 ended the session 0.07% lower at 160.55 points, while the BGTR30 sank 0.50% to 811.91 points.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, declined by 0.12% to 190.85 points after a 6.25% loss at real estate investment trust Sopharma Buildings REIT [BUL:SFB] to 15.00 levs.
Meanwhile, the BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, was the sole index to post a gain on Tuesday. It climbed by 0.24% to 103.76 points on the back of a 2.94% increase in Dronamics Capital [BUL:DRON] to 2.80 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse slipped to roughly 3.42 million levs ($1.9 million/1.7 million euro) on Tuesday from some 6.27 million levs on Monday.
With 1.04 million shares traded, Varna-based Galata Investment Company [BUL:GTH] was the top stock by turnover for the second consecutive day, generating 2.6 million levs. The company's shares closed flat at 2.50 levs.
