January 31 (SeeNews) - Three of the four main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed on an upbeat note on Tuesday, with the SOFIX inching up 0.02% to 614.89 points, as companies continued to release full-year earnings reports, bourse data showed.
Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] was the biggest blue-chip gainer, adding 3.92% to 2.12 levs in a trading volume of 17,987 shares. The SOFIX was also supported by a 1.09% gain in machine engineering company M+S Hydraulic [BUL:MSH] to 9.25 levs.
On the losing side, fertiliser maker Neochim [BUL:NEOH] retreated 2.38% to 41.00 levs.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, also made a slight gain, of 0.08% to 141.77 points. The BGBX40 was supported by a 5.56% jump in cable maker Emka [BUL:EMKA] to 3.80 levs along with a 4.40% rise in Industrial Holding Bulgaria [BUL:IHB] to 1.90 levs.
The BGREIT, which comprises seven real estate investment trusts, made the biggest advance on the day, of 0.80% to 188.06 levs, mostly owing to the climb in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT.
Lastly, a 4.04% drop in Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT] to 5.70 levs, coupled with the loss in Neochim, contributed to the BGTR30 index being the only one to close in retreat. The BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight., fell 0.17% to 741.04 points, further dragged down by a 2.27% loss in battery maker Monbat [BUL:MONB] to 4.30 levs.
National Investment Fund (NIF) Dynamic [BUL:DYN] ended the day's trading session with the largest turnover, of 604,800 levs, and 56,000 shares traded. The stock closed flat at 10.80 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the BSE went up to 1.21 million levs ($672,546/618,663 euro) on Tuesday from 1.02 million levs on Monday.
