September 24 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's September seasonally-adjusted economic sentiment index rose by three percentage points from a month earlier, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.
The September index was 17 percentage points lower than a year earlier and 20 percentage points below the long-term average, the statistics office said in a statement. Slovenia started measuring economic sentiment in January 2000.
The seasonally-adjusted services confidence indicator increased by four percentage points in September from a month earlier. It was 31 percentage points down from September 2008 and was 34 points below the long-term average.
The seasonally-adjusted value of the manufacturing sector confidence indicator increased by three percentage points from August. It was seven percentage points down from September 2008 and was 19 points below the long-term average.
After two months of decline, the consumer confidence indicator increased by eight percentage points in September from the previous month. The increase was mainly due to more optimistic outlook of consumers about the general economic situation over the next 12 months. The consumer confidence indicator was two percentage points above last year’s average and four percentage points down from a year earlier.
The September seasonally-adjusted retail trade confidence indicator remained flat from a month earlier. It was down by 32 percentage points from September 2008 and 23 points below the long-term average.
The August confidence indicator in the construction sector increased by one percentage point from a month earlier and was 57 percentage points lower than a year earlier. It was 54 percentage points lower than the long-term average.
