May 18 (SeeNews) - Slovenian port operator Luka Koper's [LJE:LKPG] supervisory board has approved the early termination of the mandate of CEO Bostjan Napast on June 30, the port operator said on Thursday.
The supervisory board of Luka Koper plans to immediately start a public competition for the appointment of a new CEO, the port operator said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
In the period between July 1 and the end of the procedure, the CEO position will be provisionally occupied by board member Nevenka Krzan, Luka Koper said.
"The decision to end the mandate early was especially difficult due to excellent colleagues, but in the end the desire to face new business challenges in a different industry prevailed," Napast said.
Luka Koper recorded a maritime throughput of 23.2 million tonnes last year, up 12% from 20.8 million tonnes in 2021, with container traffic increasing to 1.018 million TEUs from 997,574 TEUs. The port has broke its vehicle transshipment record in 2022, servicing 1.394 million units, up from 656,477 in 2021.
