March 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenian manufacturer of ceramic components for machines Keko Oprema plans to invest 2 million euro ($2.1) in the construction of a hydrogen production equipment factory in the Jama na Dvoru industrial zone near Zuzemberk, local media reported.
Keko Oprema has signed an agreement to acquire three land plots in the industrial zone and intends to hire 25 employees at the new factory, which will make electrolytic cells with a ceramic membrane for the production of hydrogen from water, news agency STA reported on Wednesday.
Keko Oprema decided to build the factory because it received additional orders from the world's leading green hydrogen company, STA quoted Keko Oprema co-owner Anton Konda as saying, without elaborating.
The production lines at Keko Oprema's new factory will be fully automated, and the company plans to complete the construction of the first production hall by the beginning of 2024.
Keko Oprema currently has a workforce of 75 employees at its factory in Zuzemberk.
