March 21 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Slovenia rose by 10.6% on the year in the first two months of this year, to 8,721, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Thursday, quoting provisional figures.
In the period under review, petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Slovenia, with 5,434 cars, followed by diesel cars (1,487) and hybrid electric cars (967), ACEA said in a statement.
The highest annual rise, of 27.4% to 233 units, was reported in plug-in hybrid car registrations, followed by a 14.5% growth of petrol car registrations, while sales of battery electric vehicles (EV) fell 4.5% on the year to 555 ones.
In the first two months of this year, car registrations in the European Union grew by 11.2% to 1.7 million units, according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Slovenia rose 5.3% on the year to 48,809 in 2023, ACEA said earlier.
