May 17 (SeeNews) - Slovenian logistics company Intereuropa [LJE:IEKG] said on Thursday its consolidated net profit rose 49% on the year to 1.3 million euro ($1.5 million) in the first quarter of 2018.
Consolidated sales revenue increased 10% year-on-year to 38.8 million euro in the three months through March, on the back of intensive sales activities and favourable economic conditions on the majority of markets where it operates, the company said in a statement filed with the Ljubljana bourse.
Sales revenue grew in all of the company's operating segments, with growth in sales of road, railway, groupage, sea and storage services standing out most.
In the land transport segment, which contributes 52% of the group’s sales, sales revenue of 20.3 million euro was generated during the first three months of the year, an increase of 11% on the results achieved in the same period in 2017.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came in at 3.6 million euro, beating last year by 6%, while earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) reached 2.1 million euro, 20% above the figure recorded in the first quarter of last year.
Koper-based Intereuropa offers services in three core business areas - land transport, intercontinental transport and logistic solutions.
