LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), July 8 (SeeNews) – Slovenian shares fell for a sixth day running on Wednesday as turnover remained low, data of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) showed.
The blue-chip SBITOP index of the LJSE fell 1.34% to 988.20 points and the broader SBI20 index decreased 1.26% to 4,049.20.
Six of the eight LJSE blue chips lost ground and two advanced.
The biggest blue-chip decliner was Slovenia’s largest insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav, which plummeted 3.27% to an average daily price of 18.95 euro in volume of almost 800 shares.
Drug maker Krka, a blue-chip heavyweight and the most liquid stock on the LJSE, slid 0.93% to 66.39 euro in volume of over 7,200 shares, the highest for the day.
The two blue-chip gainers were the nation's largest brewer Pivovarna Lasko and Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor (NKBM), the country's second largest lender by assets.
Pivovarna Lasko added 0.29% to 37.46 euro in volume of 54 shares; NKBM rose 0.18% to 11.15 euro in turnover of ore than 300 shares.
LJSE's total turnover fell to 1.02 million euro ($1.42 million) from 1.29 million euro on Tuesday.
