May 9 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's finance ministry said on Tuesday it has successfully placed three issues of Treasury bills with a combined value of 80 million euro ($87.1 million).
The finance ministry said in a statement it placed three-month, six-month and one-year T-bill issues, worth 10 million euro, 20 million euro and 50 million euro in par value, respectively.
The yield of accepted offers for the six-month and one-year T-bills stood at -0.30%, while the yield of the three-month issue amounted to -0.35%, the ministry added.
In August, Slovenia said it was seeking to buy back up to $1 billion of outstanding 2022, 2023 and 2024 dollar-denominated government securities and at the same it was considering the issuing of euro-denominated debt to fund the repurchase.
The government purchased a total of $597.6 million of its outstanding 2022, 2023 and 2024 dollar-denominated T-notes in March.
The transaction was part of Slovenia’s "effective debt management strategy aimed at optimising its cost of debt and providing liquidity to accepted holders," the government said back then.
