April 8 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's government is considering lifting next week some of the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, prime minister Janez Jansa said.

The government may allow companies that can ensure the safety of their workers and customers through the use of protective equipment and other precautionary measures to resume operations, Jansa said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of news agency STA on Tuesday.

Moreover, some free movement restrictions could be removed as a result of the widespread testing for the novel coronavirus disease at critical points, Jansa added.

The country has confirmed 1,091 cases of the coronavirus infection and 40 deaths related to the virus so far. On March 12, Slovenia declared a state of emergency because of the coronavirus spread. Public transport was halted, schools and kindergartens were closed, restrictions were imposed on border crossings and on public gatherings.
