December 16 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of Sweden-based property development and construction group Skanska said on Monday it has inaugurated the first building of the Equilibrium office project in Bucharest.
Currently, Equilibrium 1 has reached an occupancy rate of 61%, Skanska Romania said in a press release.
The building has a 3,500 sq m space destined for relaxation and outdoor working.
"Hybrid office projects, which can accommodate various activities, are attracting more and more interest. Equilibrium is such a space, which covers a wide range of needs through its modularity and facilities," Skanska Property Romania managing director Aurelia Luca said.
The Equilibrium complex it is the second project developed by the company in the northern part of the capital, after Green Court Bucharest.
At the beginning of the month, Skanska announced that it has acquired about 26,200 sq m of land in Bucharest from InteRo Property Development Estates for 24 million euro ($26.4 million). The plot that will be dedicated to a new office development is located in the Bucurestii Noi submarket, in the northern part of the Romanian capital.
In November, Skanska signed a lease with Societe Generale European Business Services for space in the third building of the Campus 6 project in Bucharest. The tenant will start to take occupancy of 10,500 sq m and 57 parking places in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Outside the Nordics, the company has European operations in building construction and civil engineering in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UK. Skanska develops commercial properties in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary and is also active on the residential development market in Prague and Warsaw.
The company is active in Romania since 2011.
