June 26 (SeeNews) - German process solutions provider Schmid Group said it has sold three solar module production lines with a total capacity of 150 megawatt peak (MWp) to Turkish companies.
The orders were placed at the Intersolar 2013 expo in Munich, which ran between June 19 and June 21, the company said in a statement last week.
Delivery of the semiautomatic lines is expected to take place in the second half of the year.
According to Schmid's vice president Gunter Bauer, solar module producers in Turkey take advantage of the attractive local market and access to the markets in the Middle East and southwestern Asia. Their operations in Europe will also benefit from the anti-dumping duties of between 37.2% and 67.9% that the EU plans to levy on Chinese imports of solar panels, cells and wafer from August.
