February 16 (SeeNews) - Romanian shipyard Santierul Naval Orsova [BSE:SNO] said on Wednesday it has signed two contracts with a total value of 6.3 million euro ($7.2 million) with Dutch company Gebr.DE JONGE Shipbuilding Services B.V.
Under the contracts, Santierul Naval Orsova will build river vessels for the Dutch company, it said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB.
The two vessels must be delivered by April 30 2023 and July 31 2023, respectively.
In January, Orsova Shipyard signed two contracts worth a total 4.06 million euro with Dutch company Rensen-Driessen Shipbuilding B.V. for the construction and delivery of river vessels by December 31 2022 and February 28 2023.
The Orsova Shipyard was founded in 1890 as a small workshop for the repair of ships participating in the construction of the Iron Gates – SIP Yugoslavia navigable canal. The two main activities of the company are the construction of ships, all of which are intended for intra-Community delivery and ship repair services, for the domestic and foreign market. The shipyard employs 356.
Santierul Naval Orsova is owned by Romanian investment funds SIF Transilvania with 49.99%, SIF Oltenia with 28.02% and by SIF Muntenia with 13.17%, while other shareholders own 16.46%.
Its shares traded 4.39% lower at 5.45 lei ($1.3/1.1 euro) as at 1004 CET on Wednesday on the BVB.
