February 28 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 2,405 building permits for residential projects in January, up 18.6% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Thursday.
As many as 670.2% of the permits issued in January were for projects located in Romania's rural areas.
The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to January 2019, in Bucharest-Ilfov, north-west, north-east, Oltenia regions.
Drops were reported in the central, south-east and south-Muntenia and western regions.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
Romania issued 42,541 building permits for residential projects in 2019, down 0.4% on the year.
