February 28 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 2,028 building permits for residential projects in January, up 1% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Thursday.
As many as 67% of the permits issued in January were for projects located in Romania's rural areas.
The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to January 2018, in north-west, centre, south-east and south-Muntenia. Drops were reported in the western, northeastern, Bucharest-Ilfov and southwest Oltenia regions.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
The total number of permits for residential buildings issued in 2018 was 42,694, up 2.6% on the year.
