January 13 (SeeNews) - Romanian railway operator CFR said that local construction company Ness Proiect Europe has won a public tender valued at 163.6 million lei ($35.6 million/33.1 million euro) for the rehabilitation of the superstructure of the Tecuci-Iasi railway section that will ensure higher train speed.
The contract has a term of 18 months, CFR said in a press release earlier this week.
Financing is secured through non-refundable funds under Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The Tecuci-Iasi railway section is 42 kilometres in length.
At the end of last month, CFR said that it has signed a 1.61 billion lei contract for the upgrade of the Cluj-Napoca - Aghires railway section.
