BUCHAREST (Romania), February 14 (SeeNews) - Romania's competition authority said it has approved the takeover of Muller Dairy Ro, the Romanian subsidiary and licensee of Germany's Molkerei Alois Müller, by Israel's Central Bottling Company for an undisclosed sum.
"Following a review of the transaction, the Competition Council found that it does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition in the market, in particular by establishing or strengthening of a dominant position," the anti-trust authority said in a statement late on Wednesday.
Central Bottling Company thus becomes the sole shareholder of Muller Dairy Ro.
Prior to this transaction, Muller Dairy Ro was owned by Central Bottling Company and dairy products manufacturer Molkerei Alois Muller.
Central Bottling Company manufactures and markets beer, natural and carbonated juices as well as dairy products in Romania.
Muller Dairy Ro sells dairy products and acts as an intermediate in the trade of food, beverages and tobacco.
