June 9 (SeeNews) - A consortium comprising Romanian companies Precon Transilvania and Citadina 98 won a 785.2 million lei ($170.5 million/158.4 million euro) tender for the construction of the Chiribis-Biharia section of Transylvania motorway, the country's road infrastructure company, CNAIR, said.
The consortium must complete works on the motorway section 28.55 km in length within 24 months from signing the contract, with six months allocated to the design stage and 18 months to construction, Cristian Pistol, CNAIR director general said in a social media post on Thursday.
The contract will be financed through non-refundable European funds and can be signed within ten days after the winning bidder has been announced, provided no appeals are submitted.
In March, a total of five bidders submitted offers in the tender for the project, CNAIR said at the time.
Founded in 2019, Precon Transilvania booked a 3.1 million lei net profit on a turnover of 33.1 million lei last year, according to data from the finance ministry.
Citadina 98 was established in 1995 and recorded a net profit of 14.2 million lei on a 195.7 million lei turnover in 2022.
