November 6 (SeeNews) - Romania's government said on Friday that it will make face masks compulsory in all spaces, close all schools, impose a curfew and close all shops at 9pm for 30 days starting November 9 as the country approaches the mark of 10,000 coronavirus infections per day.
As of November 9, wearing masks will be compulsory across the country, in all public spaces, regardless of the number of cases in a specific area, according to a document prepared by the national committee on emergency situations, which is to be adopted by the government by Monday.
All schools will close and a national curfew will be imposed, most likely from 11pm until 5am, according to the document.
Also, companies where employees cannot work from home are required to change the schedule of employees so that they don't arrive for work in the same time slot.
All shops must limit their working hours to 5am-9 pm, except for pharmacies and petrol stations, while indoor markets all over the country are required to close as of November 9.
Romania extended the state of alert introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic by 30 days as from October 15.
On Thursday, Romanian authorities reported 9,714 new cases of Covid-19 registered in a single day, after performing 37,685 tests. Total coronavirus cases in the country reached 276,802 while the death toll climbed to 7,540, the latest data from the health ministry showed.
