January 27 (SeeNews) - The number of real estate deals in Bulgaria declined by an annual 8.5% to 193,566 in 2020, data of the country's registry agency showed.
In the fourth quarter of 2020 alone, real estate transactions in Bulgaria decreased by 4.1% year-on-year to 61,291, the registry agency said in a statistical data release published last week.
On a quarterly comparison basis, real estate purchases in Bulgaria rose 8.1% in the October-December period.
According to the registry agency data, real estate deals fell on an annual comparison basis in all major cities in the country during the fourth quarter.
Most of the property transactions in the fourth quarter, 9,550, were signed in the capital Sofia, as they dropped 0.4% compared to the same quarter of 2019. The coastal city of Varna reported 3,692 deals, down by 5.6%, and the second-largest city of Plovdiv saw 4,846 transactions, down by 4%.
