April 3 (SeeNews) - The Bosnian unit of German-based car parts manufacturer Prevent Group said on Tuesday it has signed a new deal with BMW for production of car upholstery.
The car upholstery will be fitted to BMW's new models of series 1 and 3, the company told SeeNews in an e-mailed statement.
"We are pleased to continue and expand our cooperation with this renowned automobile manufacturer", a company spokesperson said.
The company also confirmed it will expand its existing contracts with BMW, in view of producing additional quantities of the agreed products.
"The expansion of cooperation with this customer further solidifies Prevent Group as the leading supplier of car upholstery in Europe and is a confirmation of its quality, reliability and long experience in the automotive industry", Muhamed Vrabac, director of the Trim Division in Bosnia's Prevent Group, said in the statement.
Prevent Group and BMW are long-standing business partners, with more than 1 million BMW vehicles equipped with original components manufactured in Prevent plants annually.
The Bosnian unit of Prevent Group is the largest private company in Bosnia and a leading automotive supplier in Europe. It employs 6500 people at 15 production sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Its clients include Volkswagen Group, BMW, Citroen, Peugeot, Ford and Opel.
