BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), June 13 (SeeNews) – Polish company Contractus is interested in launching production of agricultural machinery, particularly tractors, on the premises of Bosnian state-owned company Kosmos, the Serb Republic's ministry of industry said.
Contractus is considering moving part of its production to Bosnia's Banja Luka in the near future, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, following a meeting with company representatives.
"Given that in the Serb Republic there are about 35,000 registered agricultural holding companies and that there are excellent conditions for the further development of agriculture, our market needs tractors," industry minister Petar Djokic is quoted saying.
He added that his ministry will fully support the implementation of this investment project.
The Serb Republic is one of two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other is the Federation.
Contractus sells agricultural machinery and spare parts to customers in Poland and exports agricultural machinery to other countries.
Kosmos is involved in the overhaul of radar, missile and computer systems. The company's workshops have a total built-up area of 80,000 sq m and a production of 20,000 different types of spare parts.
