SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 16 (SeeNews) – Asseco South Eastern Europe (ASEE), a unit of Polish software company Asseco, has allocated 20 million euro ($29.2 million) for acquisitions in the region, including Macedonia, the company’s CEO Piotr Jelenski said on Wednesday.
He gave no time period for the planned investment.
So far, Asseco SEE has invested 18 million euro in Macedonia, Jelenski told a news conference. Asseco SEE has been present on the Macedonian market since the end of 2007 after aqcuiring majority ownership of local software provider Pexim.
Pexim was rebranded into Asseco Macedonia on Wednesday, the director of the company's Macedonian unit Slavco Angelovski told the same news conference.
Asseco Macedonia’s revenues totaled 9.9 million euro in the first half of 2009, with EBIT (earning before interest and tax) of 1.7 million euro, the company said in a press release. Banking services contributed 56% of Asseco Macedonia’s half-year revenues with card business, integration equipment and integration services accounting for the remainder.
Asseco’s investment in Southeastern Europe totalled 82.1 million euro in the period 2007-2008. The company employs 960 people in 11 countries in SEE.
Asseco SEE’s revenues totaled 50 million euro in the first half of this year, with EBIT of 7.0 million euro. Romania participates with 42% of the company’s total revenues, whilst Macedonia, Bulgaria and Albania contributed a combined share of 20%. The company has operations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
