April 18 (SeeNews) - Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, led the decliners among the blue-chips on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Tuesday, bourse data showed.
The total equity turnover of the BVB surged to 18.7 million lei ($4.4 million/ 4.1 million euro) from 2.4 million lei on Friday. Monday was a non-trading day on the BVB.
Nuclearelectrica was the top blue-chip decliner, loosing 2.68% to 6.9 lei in 1.5 million lei turnover.
Romanian power supplier and distributor Electrica [BSE:EL] fell 0.42% to 14.34 lei and posted the day's largest turnover of 6.34 million lei.
Blue chip lender Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV], lost 0.91% to 2.7350 lei in the day's second largest turnover of 3.55 million lei.
Blue-chip investment fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE: FP] rose 0.34% to 0.8940 lei in the day's third largest turnover of 1.65 million lei.
The shares of Romanian dairy producer Albalact [BSE:ALBZ], part of French group Lactalis, were withdrawn from trading on the BVB on Tuesday, marking the delisting of the company from the bourse.
In November 2016, Albalact's shares were suspended from trading on the BVB following the takeover of the company by Lactalis for 340 million lei ($80 million/75.1 million euro).
Albalact shares will also be excluded from the BET Plus, BET-XT, BET-XT-TR and BET-BK share indices of the BVB.
As announced last year, Albalact will be replaced in the BVB indices by cardboard maker Vrancart [BSE:VNC]. On Friday, Vrancart decided to use the capital market to attract fresh financing to expand its operations. The company has attracted 38.25 million lei from the BVB following the first issuance of notes.
On Tuesday, Netherlands-based telecoms company Cable Communications Systems, the majority owner of Romanian company RCS&RDS, said it intends to list up to 25% of its shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange through an initial public offering (IPO) in May.
