February 28 (SeeNews) - Oil and gas group NIS [BEL:NIIS] generated more than half of the total share turnover on the Belgrade stock market on Tuesday, as share indices rose, bourse data showed.
NIS generated a stock turnover of 29.1 million dinars on Tuesday. It was also the most traded stock on the bourse, as 38,241 shares changed hands in a total of 142 transactions. The share price of NIS remained unchanged at 760 dinars.
The oil and gas group said on Monday its net profit rose by 3% in 2016 to 15 billion dinars ($128 million/121 million euro).
Civil engineering group Energoprojekt [BEL:ENHL] led the blue-chip gainers list on the Belgrade stock market on Tuesday, after adding 2.23% to 2,688 dinars. Energoprojekt was the second most traded blue-chip on the stock exchange, as 2,688 of its shares changed hands in 35 transactions, generating a turnover of 3.6 million dinars.
Belgrade airport operator Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] paced the blue-chip decliners on Tuesday, shedding 0.42% to 1,173 dinars. A total of 64 of the company's shares were traded, generating a turnover of 74,893 dinars.
The blue-chip BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade bourse, increased 0.28% to 718.77 points. On Monday, the index rising 0.13% to 716.75.
The broader BELEXline, a free‐float market capitalisation weighted index, grew 0.06% and closed Tuesday's session at 1,564.20 after edging down 0.04% to 1,563.22 on Monday.
The total stock trading turnover on the bourse grew to 46.4 million dinars from 25.2 million dinars on Monday. A total of 309 transactions were carried out on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Tuesday, compared to 366 on Monday. Trading in shares on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) segment contributed 3.1 million dinars to the share turnover on the Belgrade stock market on Tuesday.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 94.7 million dinars to Tuesday's total trading turnover of 141.1 million dinars on the bourse. A total of 765 bonds of the euro-denominated RSO16136 issue changed hands in a single transaction on Tuesday. The bonds bear a coupon of 1.50% and mature on February 3, 2018.
In February, BELEX15 and BELEXline lost 2.83% and 1.81%, respectively. BELEX15 closed in the black in 14 of the 18 trading sessions in the period, while BELEX15 gained ground in 13 sessions.
Shares in Aerodrom Nikola Tesla advanced the most among the blue chips in February. The stock added 6.54%. Soybean group Sojaprotein [BEL:SJPT] was the only blue chip to decline in February, down 0.76%. Shares in Sojaprotein closed at 650 dinars on Tuesday.
Energoprojekt generated the highest share turnover on the Belgrade stock market in February, a total of 501.5 million dinars.
The total value of trading in shares on the Belgrade stock market this month was 874.8 million dinars in February, versus 877.3 million dinars in the previous month. Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 2.890 billion dinars to February's total trading turnover of 3.765 billion dinars. Last month, trading in Treasury bonds amounted to 3.349 billion dinars out of a total trading turnover of 4.227 billion dinars.
Treasury bonds of five issues were traded on the stock market in February. Two of the issues were dinar-denominated and the remainder were in euro. The highest turnover was generated by the dinar-denominated RSO15105 issue, as 101,722 securities were traded on February 7, 13 and 22, amid a combined turnover of 1.171 billion dinars. The RSO15105 issue bears a coupon of 10% and matures on March 2, 2018.
