May 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH] said that it was forced to halt work at its ammonium nitrate, nitric acid and its electricity generation units as a result of an earlier unplanned stoppage at its ammonia production unit.
The three units were shut down on April 30, Neochim said in a bourse filing on Sunday.
In a separate filing published shortly afterwards, the plant also announced that it ceased production at its ammonium bicarbonate unit as a consequence of the earlier shutdowns.
Neochim had to pause production at the ammonia unit in mid-April due to a technical fault.
Last week, the chemicals company posted a standalone net loss of 9.8 million levs ($5.5 million/5 million euro) in the first quarter of this year, compared to a net profit of 64.4 million levs in the like period of 2022.
As at 1530 CEST, shares in Neochim traded 1.12% lower at 35.40 levs on the Sofia bourse.
