April 26 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia posted a budget gap of 6.66 billion denars ($115.5 million/108.2 million euro) in the first three months of the year, compared with a 6.9 billion denars deficit in the same period last year, finance ministry data showed on Tuesday.
Consolidated budget revenues totalled 57.17 billion denars in the January-March period, compared with 48.5 billion denars in the like period of 2021, as tax revenues rose to 605 million denars from 245 million denars, finance ministry figures showed.
Total expenditures rose to 63.8 billion denars in the review period, compared with 55.4 billion denars in the like period of 2021.
In March alone, the budget was in surplus of 199 million denars, compared with a 1.4 billion denars gap in the same month last year.
At the end of 2021, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 38.8 billion denars, compared with a 53.9 billion denars gap at the end of 2020.
North Macedonia's government has projected a budget deficit of 33.5 billion denars in 2022, equivalent to 4.3% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP).
