April 8 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia has confirmed 599 coronavirus cases as of Tuesday, with the death toll rising to 26, the health ministry said.
A total of 29 new patients were diagnosed with the COVID-19 disease over the past 24 hours, while five died, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The country expects the outbreak to peak at the end of April, when the number of coronavirus cases is expected to reach between 2,000 and 2,500, prime minister Oliver Spasovski said at a conference on Monday.
In mid-March, North Macedonia's president Stevo Pendarovski declared a 30-day nationwide state of emergency over the coronavirus outbreak.
As of Wednesday, curfew hours in the country will be from 4 pm to 5 am. In addition, people under the age of 18 will be allowed to move only between 1 pm and 3 pm, while those with over 67 of age can leave their homes only between 10 am and 12 pm. There will also be a 24-hour curfew on weekends for all citizens.
