December 6 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based drug maker Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said that it expects it consolidated net profit to rise by at least 7% year-on-year to 18.25 million euro ($20.4 million) in 2020 from a projected 17 million euro in 2019.
Alkaloid's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) are seen rising 10% to 33 million euro in 2020, the company said in a bourse filing.
Consolidated revenue is forecast at 191 million euro in 2020, up by an annual 7% compared to the level expected in 2019. About 65% of the revenue in 2020 is expected to be booked on the local market.
Capital expenditure is planned at some 14% of consolidated revenue, with a major 11 million euro new production facilities expected to commence operations in the first half of 2020.
Alkaloid's main focus in 2020 will be the local region, followed by the EU, US, and Russia.
The company has two subsidiaries in Macedonia, as well as 16 subsidiaries and three representative offices abroad - in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, and the US.
Alkaloid employs 1,620 people in Macedonia and 492 people in its subsidiaries outside the country.
