May 15 (SeeNews) - Three of the four main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed higher on Monday, with the blue-chip SOFIX advancing by 0.96% to 635.39 points.
SOFIX's performance was boosted by energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG], which jumped 5.81% to 1.64 levs, and fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH], which added 2.10% to 38.90 levs.
Eurohold and Neochim also buoyed the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The BGBX40 was additionally supported by a 4.52% leap in cable manufacturer Emka [BUL:EMKA] to 4.16 levs, while growth in the BGTR30 was further driven by a 1.60% climb in hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:MSH] to 9.50 levs.
Overall, the BGBX40 index closed 0.56% higher at 143.68 points, whereas the BGTR30 rose by 0.16% to 732.31 points.
At the same time, the BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, lost 0.12% to 189.74 points. It was held back by a 0.57% slip at Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 3.47 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse went up to 925,999 levs ($515,687/473,454 euro) on Monday from 854,478 levs on Friday.
The most liquid stock of the day was diversified group Synthetica [BUL:SYN], which generated 200,000 levs with 4,000 shares traded. The company's shares closed flat at 50.00 levs.
