November 15 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 16.8% year-on-year in October, after rising by an annual 16% in September, the national statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices grew by 1.4% in October, at the same pace as a month earlier, the statistical office said in a statement.
Annual inflation was mostly fuelled by an increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 29.5%, prices at restaurants and hotels by 17.4%, prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 14.8%, furniture, household equipment and routine household maintenance prices by 12.2% and transport, 11.9%.
Prices of clothing and footwear went up by 6.6%, healthcare appreciated by 7.5% and alcoholic beverages and tobacco were 6% more expensive.
