March 30 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's central government debt edged down to 3.458 billion euro ($4.07 billion) as at the end of 2020 from 3.665 billion euro at the end of September, according to finance ministry data.
The central government debt was equivalent to 82.48% of the gross domestic product (GDP) estimated for 2020, compared to 79.45% of the GDP at the end of June, figures published by the finance ministry show.
The foreign debt of Montenegro grew to 3.835 billion euro at the end of 2020 from 3.105 billion euro in September, while domestic debt went down to 495.6 million euro from 507.5 million euro.
The largest creditor of the Montenegrin government as at the end of 2020 was the Export-Import Bank of China (EXIM Bank) with 640.5 million euro, followed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) with 181.5 million euro.
