January 16 (SeeNews) - Montenegro turned to an average annual consumer price inflation of 2.4% in 2017 from 0.2% deflation in 2016, the national statistical office said on Tuesday.
In December alone, Montenegro's consumer prices rose by 1.9% year-on-year, after growing by 2.4% in November, the statistical office said in a monthly inflation report.
Consumer prices fell by 0.2% on the month in December after rising by 0.1% in November, the statistical office said.
The biggest monthly rise in prices in December, of 0.4%, was recorded in the segment of hotels and restaurants, followed by alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 0.2%.
On the other hand, the prices of clothing and footwear declined by 1.4% month-on-month in December, while the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 0.5%.
