May 17 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s seaports handled 626,313 tonnes of cargo in the first quarter of 2022, up from only 290,774 in the like period of last year, data from the country's statistical office showed.
The exports from Montenegrin seaports rose to 449,496 tonnes from 112,496 tonnes, whereas imports edged up 0.6% to 193,418 tonnes, according to data posted on the website of the statistical office.
Bar, with an annual capacity of 5 million tonnes, is the major seaport in Montenegro. Kotor, Risan, Tivat, and Zelenika are smaller ports in the country.
