August 30 (SeeNews) - The manufacturing sector attracted the largest share of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Bulgaria last year, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
The volume of FDI flow into industrial enterprises totalled 10.9 billion euro ($12.0 million) last year, followed by the services sector with 6.4 billion euro, the NSI said in report on FDI in non-financial enterprises in 2018, citing preliminary estimates.
The relative share of FDI in Bulgaria's industrial sector dropped by 1.1 percentage points compared to 2017, while in the services sector it was 2.0 percentage points higher.
Foreign direct investment in Bulgaria's construction sector totalled 457 million euro last year, down from 626 million euro in 2017.
According to preliminary data, FDI into Bulgaria's non-financial sector totalled 25.4 billion euro in 2018, up 1.4% year-on-year.
