January 12 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia increased by an annual 16.3% to 947,242 in the first 11 months of 2017, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
The number of domestic tourists rose 5.7% year-on-year to 349,539 in January-November, whereas the number of international visitors increased 23.5% to 597,703, the statistical office said in a statement.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in Macedonia in the review period increased 12.2% year-on-year, reaching 2.67 million.
In November alone, the total number of tourists staying in Macedonia rose 15.2% year-on-year to 50,869, with 32,921 of them coming from abroad.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited Macedonia in November, 13.1% came from Turkey, 10.6% from Greece and 10.4% from Serbia.
