November 12 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in September fell by 1.3% on the year to 43,475 after dropping by an annual 5.0% a month earlier, data of the country's Statistics Office showed on Thursday.
In September, overnights grew by an annual 2.7% to 106,965 with foreigners accounting for 66,632 of the total, the statistics office said in a statement.
A total of 490,017 tourists visited Macedonia in the first nine months of 2009, down by 1.1% on the year. Overnights for the period decreased by an annual 5.7% to 1,882,684 .
