June 8 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's economy posted zero annual growth in the first quarter of 2017, estimated figures from the national statistical office, MAKSTAT, showed on Thursday.
Macedonia's gross domestic product totalled 145.9 billion denars ($2.7 billion/2.4 billion euro) at current prices, compared to 149.4 billion denars a year earlier, according to a report published on the website of Makstat.
Exports of goods and services increased by 9% year-on-year, while imports grew 10.7% in the review period.
Macedonia's final consumption grew by an estimated 2.3% on the year in the January-March period, with household consumption adding 2.7% and government consumption edging up 0.7%.
Gross capital formation ticked up 0.6%, compared to a year earlier.
In 2016, Macedonia posted a 2.4% economic growth.
