SKOPJE (Macedonia), August 9 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's telecoms regulator said on Thursday it has invited applications for the award of 4G frequencies and for a digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DVB-T) permit.
The selected 4G operator will get a licence to use the frequency range earmarked for the implementation of Long-term Evolution (LTE) technology to provide commercial services starting September 1, 2013, the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) said in a statement.
The selection of a DVB-T operator will form the basis for the launch of the process of transition from analog to digital television broadcasting that should start on June, 1, 2013, it added.
The operators will be selected in public auctions, AEC said without specifying a timeframe.
