- Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said he was not surprised by the EU Council's decision to delay setting a date for launching EU accession talks with Macedonia until 2010, as neighboring Greece hinted in several occasions that it would oppose the early start of negotiations if Macedonia didn't give up its name.
- Thirty-five Macedonian companies will receive 12.4 million euro by December 18 in a first tranche of a loan provided by the European Investment Bank, Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion said.

- Three more people died due to the A/H1N1 virus in the last two days in Macedonia, bringing the total number of swine-flu related deaths in the country to nine, the Health Ministry said.
