December 6 (SeeNews) - Lufthansa Group plans to launch flights linking Montenegro's Tivat airport to Munich and Frankfurt in April 2019, Montenegrin airport operator Aerodromi Crne Gore has said.
The flights to Munich and Frankfurt will be operated with Airbus A319 aircraft and will be launched on April 13 and 14, respectively, Aerodromi Crne Gore said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Lufthansa decided to launch connections between Tivat and both its hubs in Germany, in Frankfurt and Munich, as the Montenegrin market has a lot of potential," the general manager of the German company for Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, Bernard Wodl, said. "From Montenegro, passengers will be able to use Lufthansa's large global network of hundreds of destinations and thousands of connections."
Montenegro's two international airports, Podgorica and Tivat, serviced a total of 910,000 passengers in the first half of 2018, up 15.2% on the year, according to data from Aerodromi Crne Gore.
