May 25 (SeeNews) - German supplier of logistics systems Lödige Industries said that it plans to double the production capacity at its factory in Romania's Brasov by the end of the year.
The company already started the construction of a new building, which will expand the factory's capacity by over 4,000 sq m, Lodige Industries said in a press release on Wednesday, without disclosing the value of its investment in the project.
"Brasov has developed into an important pillar alongside our plant in Scherfede. Due to increasing orders, the expansion of our capacities is the logical next step and a long-term commitment," said Luana Costescu-Guran, managing director at Lödige Industries in Romania.
Lödige Industries was established in 1948 and is currently active in more than 40 countries across the world. Since 2006, the Lödige factory in Brasov produced mainly lifting and handling machines, which are installed at air freight terminals, car parking systems and as material handling equipment in projects for the global market. The factory employs some 100 people.
