LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), July 7 (SeeNews) – The Slovenian stock indices extended their losing streak on Tuesday, data of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) showed.
The blue-chip SBITOP index of the LJSE sagged 1.87% to 1,001.63 points and the broader SBI20 index skidded 1.72% to 4,100.92.
Six of the eight LJSE blue chips fell and two gained ground.
The steepest SBITOP decliner was Slovenia’s largest brewer Pivovarna Lasko, which dived 4.23% to an average daily price of 37.35 euro in volume of just 13 shares.
Drug maker Krka, a blue-chip heavyweight and the most liquid stock on the LJSE, dipped 2.18% to 67.01 euro in volume of over 12,000 shares, the highest for the day.
The second most liquid stock on the Slovenian market on Tuesday was Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor, the nation’s second largest lender by assets. Its stock lost 1.59% to 11.13 euro in volume of almost 5,000 shares.
The two blue-chip gainers were food retailer Mercator and rubber-to-tourism group Sava.
Mercator edged up 0.02% to 159.33 euro in volume of 142 shares; Sava added 0.22% to 242.89 euro in volume of 27 shares.
LJSE's total turnover slightly rose to 1.29 million euro ($1.8 million) from 1.23 million euro on Monday.
The SBITOP index fell 1.09% to 1,020.73 points and the SBI20 index went down 0.79% to 4,172.56 on Monday.
