BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 12 (SeeNews) – The government of Bosnia’s Serb Republic said on Thursday it has decided it would be of public interest to award a concession for the exploitation of a black coal deposit in Ljesljani, in the entity’s northwest.
The site, located in the municipality of Novi Grad, is estimated to hold 20 million tonnes of coal while the planned annual output is seen at 300,000-500,000 tonnes, the Serb Republic’s government said in a statement.
The project would require up to 24.9 million marka ($16.3 million/12.7 million euro) in investment and is expected to open 151 new jobs.
The Serb Republic makes up Bosnia together with the Muslim-Croat Federation.
